In the day of Holund, Francesco De Fabiani gets the Top 15 in the final round of the World Championships. And tonight he will be the special guest on National TV at Fabio Fazio’s prime time show together with Federico Pellegrino.

The 50 km, held on a hot day and spring snow was tactical for the first 50 minutes, until the Norwegian Hans Christer Holund decided to attack with a solo attempt to immediately create a gap. The second to attack was the fearsome Russian Alexander Bolshunov, author of a crazy progression and 2nd on the finish line behind Holund, new world champion. Third place for Sjur Roethe (Norway).

«This 50 was very fast and beautiful – says De Fabiani after the huge effort – I had no legs in the last climb, I had cramps and this did not help me. I was in the right position 5 °, 6 °, the final climb was the last obstacle of the race and it was crucial to overcome it well, unfortunately the right leg failed. Actually I had a crisis even before, which I had in any case recovered with the passing of the kilometers».

Regarding the podium: «I congratulate the medalists, I would have liked to be there, but I missed something in the final. I have no regrets anyway, now I have to evaluate the calendar in order to maintain the Top 10 in the overall World Cup ranking and I want to say that these were beautiful Worlds that, as you know, gave me a very important bronze with Pellegrino».

Next scheduled race for DeFast is for the incoming week with another 50 km, the one in Oslo: «I hope to recover at best to compete on Saturday in the queen of the races of the cross-country – concludes De Fabiani – I really care about it. I have done 5 races in this world and my legs are now as tired as normal. Soon we will dissolve doubts about my presence in Oslo».

Therefore, this evening, Francesco De Fabiani, along with Federico Pellegrino, has been invited as special guest in the TV show of Fabio Fazio, "Che Tempo Che Fa", during the prime time, to share with the whole of Italy the emotions of these Worlds.
